Views over to Hengistbury HeadThe year our summer Garden Party was held in the garden of the Red House Museum, near the Christchurch Priory Church, on Saturday afternoon, 2nd August. There were the usual stalls and raffle with loads of prizes and games, and of course our famous Cream Teas which everyone loved!
We thank the volunteers who set up the event, helped at the stalls, and served teas, washed up and many other things. We thank you! It's was great fun as it's our largest fund raiser. The money goes towards supporting the management of Stanpit Marsh, specifically, towards the Marsh warden.
For the first time in anyone's memory it rained in the middle of the tea party. Not lightly, but in sheets, plus that wind. The hardy FOSM crowd bunched up under the gazebos with great jollity. It soon passed and the sun returned and the garden party resumed. Thank you all for coming and making it such a successful event.
Thanks also to all who helped fold the tables, take down the gazebos, pack up the stalls and carry the boxes to the cars.
